Legal
Privacy policy. Short, because we keep little.
This page says what Trueline does with personal information, in plain words. The shortest version is the strip below. The rest is the detail behind it.

01Who we are and what this covers
Trueline is the company that runs this website and provides the Trueline service.
This policy covers two situations. When you visit this website or send us an enquiry, we decide how your information is used. When Trueline scores calls for one of our customers, the customer decides, and we handle that information only on their instructions. Sections 2 to 4 are about the first situation. Section 5 is about the second.
02What this website collects
What you send us. If you fill in the request or contact form we receive what you type: your name, work email address, company, and, if you give them, your job title, country and message.
What every web server records. When your browser asks for a page, our server logs the request: your IP address, the time, the page asked for and the browser's description of itself. We use these logs to keep the site running and to investigate abuse, and we keep them no longer than that needs.
What we do not collect. This site sets no cookies. It runs no analytics, no advertising and no third-party scripts, and its fonts are served from our own server, so visiting it does not tell any other company that you were here.
The demo on the home page plays a sample recording inside your browser. It does not use your microphone and it sends nothing to us.
03How we use it, and why we may
We use what you send us for one thing: to reply to you and, if you ask for one, to arrange a demo or a pilot. We do not add you to a marketing list because you filled in a form, and we do not sell or rent personal information to anyone.
Where the law asks for a reason, ours are these. Replying to an enquiry is something you asked us to do before entering into a contract. Keeping server logs is in our legitimate interest in running a secure website, and it does not override yours because the logs are minimal and short-lived.
05Callers on a customer's phone line
Trueline's customers are organisations that want to know when a voice on one of their phone lines is synthetic. They send us a copy of the call audio. For that information the customer is the controller and we are their processor: we act on their instructions under a written agreement, and questions about a particular call should go to the organisation you called.
What happens to the audio is the same for every customer, and it is deliberately little:
- Audio is held in memory for at most eight seconds while it is scored, and then discarded. It is never written to disk.
- Nothing is transcribed. The model scores how the speech was produced, and has no output that is words.
- No voiceprint is made and nobody is enrolled. We do not identify callers and could not recognise one on a later call.
- What is kept is the result: scores, the verdict, the time and the customer's own reference for the call. It is kept for thirty days by default, for a period the customer sets, which can be zero.
- A customer can delete the record of any call at any time.
- Audio and results are encrypted in transit with TLS 1.2 or later.
The controls behind these statements are set out on our security page.
A data processing agreement, including the list of sub-processors and the locations where processing takes place, is part of every customer contract and is available to prospective customers under a non-disclosure agreement.
06Your rights
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, ask us to delete it, or object to how we use it. Depending on where you live you may have further rights, such as receiving your information in a portable form or restricting its use. We will not ask you to pay, and we answer within the time the law allows, which is usually one month.
If your request is about a call you made to one of our customers, please contact that organisation. They decide what happens to that information and we will help them answer you.
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, tell us first so we can put it right. You also have the right to complain to the data protection authority where you live.
07Children
This website and the Trueline service are made for organisations. They are not directed at children and we do not knowingly collect information from them.
08Changes to this policy
When this policy changes we update the date at the top of the page. If a change materially affects how we use information you have already given us, we will tell you before it takes effect.
